For the third year in a row, Total is a sponsor of SPARK, which helps public schools develop their playgrounds into community parks.
In partnership with Trees for Houston, employee volunteers from Total planted trees throughout the Looscan Elementary SPARK Park in order to enhance the landscape and provide shade.
“Volunteering is one of the ways our employees show their care for the community,” said Gaby Valles, Total’s Community Relations representative. “Our work with SPARK is an opportunity to tangibly improve a local neighborhood and provides a fun, engaging space for the youth and the young at heart.
The school is located in the Northside area of Houston, just five miles from Total Plaza. Trees for Houston supplied the trees, the tools and the “how to” knowledge for the planting. Total volunteers provided the energy to plant the trees.
